On waking Saturday, June 1, 2024 In dream, some guy I meet acts interested in seeing my apartment. (I think dream takes place in Manhattan, where in real life I lived for 27 years before moving to Florida.) He admires little artworks on my walls. Maybe they are postcards I’ve collected over the years with fascinating photo images on them. (In real life, I have a collection of these in a drawer in my home office.) But then I catch him stealing them, and I’m horrified that this guy who I gullibly trusted is a thief. I try to find a policeman to catch him and retrieve the art the guy stole. But my voice disappears and I’m unable to speak. The cop seems too jovial to be a cop; he isn’t taking me seriously. I realize he’s not a cop, but an accomplice of the robber. A very disturbing dream. My late mother is in the dream, alive but frail.
This dream could represent feelings of vulnerability and betrayal in your waking life. The setting in Manhattan, where you once lived for 27 years, may symbolize a familiar and comfortable place for you. The guy showing interest in your apartment and admiring the artworks could represent a person or situation that seems appealing and trustworthy at first, but ends up betraying your trust. The theft of your artworks could symbolize a sense of loss or violation, while your inability to speak when trying to find help may indicate feelings of powerlessness or being unable to express yourself in a situation where you feel wronged. The cop turning out to be an accomplice of the thief could suggest a sense of disillusionment or distrust in authority figures or institutions. Your late mother appearing in the dream as frail but alive could symbolize a connection to your past and possibly a desire for guidance or support during times of vulnerability. Overall, this dream may be reflecting feelings of vulnerability, betrayal, and a need to assert yourself in the face of deception or injustice in your waking life.
